Liz Nielsen and Dylan Gebbia-Richards

6 April - 12 May 2018
Overview
Nielsen and Gebbia-Richards achieve something exotic, yet familar and in defiance of scale they depict infinite worlds—simultaneously macro and micro.

This exhibition provides two unique interpretations of landscape, disparate in medium but equal in their pursuit of transcendence for artist and audience. Nielsen and Gebbia-Richards achieve something exotic, yet familar and in defiance of scale they depict infinite worlds—simultaneously macro and micro. These works evoke a geometry, allowing the viewer to move within the ebb and flow of Gebbia-Richards’ crystalline wax structures and sink into the saturated hues of Nielsen’s abstracted mountains. Intensely process-driven, Nielsen’s photograms and Gebbia-Richards’ paintings are experimental and wholly their own. Per Nielsen, these works “are about transcendence and shifting one’s way of seeing through abstraction.”
