Cody Hudson: I Came Home | Project Room
Taking visual cues from Colorado’s iconic mountainous scenery, soft-edged geometric forms meet warm, fleshy earth tones in a playful synthesis of intuitive design language and personal meaning.
David B. Smith Gallery is proud to present I Came Home, a solo exhibition of sixteen new paintings and powder coated steel sculptures by Chicago-based artist Cody Hudson.
In his introductory presentation with the gallery, Hudson’s signature abstract color-block style effortlessly transcends media, featuring evocative shapes and bold use of color. Taking visual cues from Colorado’s iconic mountainous scenery, soft-edged geometric forms meet warm, fleshy earth tones in a playful synthesis of intuitive design language and personal meaning. Set against an original wall mural that envelopes the gallery’s Project Room, Hudson creates an illustrative psychological landscape.
