Recently exhibited in her solo show at the Springfield Art Museum in Springfield, MO and in our booth at NADA New York 2022, Grey Ice Dust Furry with Lobster Rocks is part of a series of pieces Nguyen Lopez made over the course of the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. Continuing her investigation into her Vitenamese and Mexican heritages and reflecting upon the day-to-day uphevals of pandemic life—the challenges of childcare, remote teaching, and sociopolitical crises—this iteration of Nguyen Lopez's Furries is perhaps an even more nuanced investigation of the artist's long-standing interest in the seemingly mundane or even discarded objects living alongside us.
