Overview

Cabinet is a space for things. Over one hundred works mingle and share the space, creating new narratives and frameworks which the viewer must actively sort through. The exhibition is simultaneously intimate and sprawling, modest and monumental. Works point to pasts and futures: at times, an object serves as an artifact, memento, souvenir, or trace; other times it becomes a proposal or speculation. In this space, the gallery, store, and museum merge and become complicated, as a history of collecting (in all its forms) is drawn upon.
